It's official! Pantone's Colour of the Year 2014 is.. Radiant Orchid.

What do you think? I really adore this colour! To me it's the perfect blend of pink and purple and is energetic but calming at the same time, I really can't wait to work it into some designs!

Colour of the week: Berry

For the second week of our new feature 'colour of the week' I have chosen a lovely purple colour.

If you missed last weeks colour of the week, Mint, you can see it here and my colour of the week makes here.

I chose Berry this week as I find it to be a very energising colour, that works across many different seasons depending on the colours you pair it with. This berry shade of purple is rich, inspiring and passionate.

Below I have put together some colour palettes featuring Berry, I hope they inspire you!

Check back on Thursday to see what I make with this yummy colour! If you make something with colour of the week or with these colour palettes please do share! I'd love to see and share your berry visions too!

I spotted this cute little dress whilst browsing the John Lewis website.. I was instantly drawn to the wonderful colour palette and the brushstroke style floral pattern.

It's just full of inspiration and really gets my creative juices flowing so I thought I would share it with you all!

Passion4Pattern Bloghop

On Sunday I will be taking part in the second Passion4Pattern Bloghop.

If you don't know how a bloghop works, it's basically a chain of blogs. You start from one advertised blog and then each blog along a chain links you to the next blog, so you can read through lots of lovely blogs!

The starting blog for this Sunday's bloghop is http://clairesmillie.wordpress.com/ and all the blogs will post at 8am Sunday (UK time) so if you visit the link above or come back here, you will able to browse lots lovely work from very talented and hard working designers!

It's very busy here right now, Module 3 of ABSPD (SO many great briefs), freelance work and trying to spread the word of my work and manufacture products for sale along with working on designs to present for sale and licensing. PHEW.

So much exciting stuff to come but until then here's a little sneak peek of something I've been working on!

My Moo order arrived!

Today my Moo order arrived, I have been eagerly awaiting it and I was not disappointed!

As a print nerd who loves the feel of paper and fantastic printed things it was unbelievably exciting for me to receive such amazing quality pieces, both in the print and the smooth glossy but not shiny paper stock.

Below are a few photos of my order, I ordered mini cards and stickers for my Etsy shop iheartrosie, the mini cards I will be using as mini business to hand out to people and also as tags (will upload photos of these when I have made them, they're gonna look AWESOME!) The stickers are for packaging, which I think will add a nice personalised touch to them :)

Finally I ordered business cards for myself, Rosie Simons Graphic and Surface Design. I paid extra to have the rounded corner business cards but it really adds to the design and makes them a beautiful object!

So happy and would thoroughly recommend Moo and their products! You can read about their wonderful silky matte laminate paper stock here!

A second project is finished!

Finished off a second of my 4 projects yesterday, the VG Dance rebrand, you can check out the whole project here

Here are a couple of images of some of the final outcomes: new uniform, 4 poster designs, 4 leaflet designs & new website mockup

Really pleased with how the project has turned out, think the new logo is more up to date and the new designs better show the energy and passion of the school and its students
