Featured on Print & Pattern
Yesterday I had the greatest start to the week. I woke up to find I had been featured on the world famous Surface Pattern Design blog, Print & Pattern. It has been my dream to be featured on print & pattern for years and I still can't quite believe it! You can see the feature here.

National Cupcake Week
You may or may not be aware that this week is National Cupcake Week so I thought I'd share some cupcake related work today.
I have just finished working on a project branding Andrea's Cupcakes and Andrea's Cupcake Parties. The client wanted me to design the logo so it worked for both Andrea's Cupcakes - cupcakes for occasions and Andrea's Cupcake Parties - cupcake decorating parties and could work on pink or white background..
I even tackled flash to make the rolling image banner on the homepage!

The client wanted me to design the logo so it worked for both Andrea's Cupcakes - cupcakes for occasions and Andrea's Cupcake Parties - cupcake decorating parties and could work on pink or white background..
I then designed business cards and stickers for the cake boxes (which I featured a while ago) from Moo. I took advantage of their printfinity option on business cards and printed different photographs of Andrea's Cupcakes on the backs of the business cards with the logo and contact details on the front.
The stickers are a combination of bits of the logo and will be used to personalise the cake boxes when taking cakes to clients and on party boxes for partygoers when they take home their decorated cupcakes from cupcake decorating parties!
Next up I designed flyers, unfortunately no photos of these to share yet as they went directly to the client.. on the left is the reverse of the flyer where I used a simple pink polka dot background and the logo. On the right is the front of the flyer, with more subdued polka dots, coloured cupcakes and the 'ice • decorate • create' slogan for the cupcake parties.
Last but not least I designed and made their website andreascupcakes.co.uk
I even tackled flash to make the rolling image banner on the homepage!

Passion4Pattern Bloghop
On Sunday I will be taking part in the second Passion4Pattern Bloghop.
If you don't know how a bloghop works, it's basically a chain of blogs. You start from one advertised blog and then each blog along a chain links you to the next blog, so you can read through lots of lovely blogs!
The starting blog for this Sunday's bloghop is http://clairesmillie.wordpress.com/ and all the blogs will post at 8am Sunday (UK time) so if you visit the link above or come back here, you will able to browse lots lovely work from very talented and hard working designers!
It's very busy here right now, Module 3 of ABSPD (SO many great briefs), freelance work and trying to spread the word of my work and manufacture products for sale along with working on designs to present for sale and licensing. PHEW.
So much exciting stuff to come but until then here's a little sneak peek of something I've been working on!

Dream catching
Lately I have been working very spontaneously between jobs and making patterns as and when they come into my head. The other morning I was just browsing the internet and suddenly a dreamcatcher motif and colour palette popped into my head and I had to put pen to paper, well more like finger to mouse and create what was in my head.
Creating patterns for a living would be a dream for me, so I'm hoping and wishing that someday, hopefully soon, that will be possible!
I am currently in search of work, full time, freelance or commission, if you are interested or know anyone who would be, please get in touch! You can contact me via Twitter (@rosie_simons) or Facebook (Rosie Simons Graphic and Surface Design) or email: rosie at rosiesimons dot co dot uk

Yet more Moo
As I told you on Friday I received yet more yummy pieces from the wonderful Moo.com, not only did I receive my own lovely new pieces but also business cards and stickers that I created for a client.
The client wanted a logo and identity for their cupcake business, which I created and then produced business cards and stickers. Andrea's cupcakes offer DELICIOUS cupcakes for all occasions and are going to be running cupcake parties, which I am currently working on flyers for, so more to come soon!
There is also a website and blog in the pipeline and of course social media outlets, so keep your eyes peeled!
Below are a few photos of the business cards and stickers from Moo.com. I love how you can have many different backs on your cards from Moo (like on my minicards) which we took advantage of by using photos of cupcakes made by Andrea herself and showing how fantastic the product is!

Busy busy at Rosie Simons HQ!
Hellooooo lovely people
Sorry for the quiet patch, it's been busy busy here at Rosie Simons HQ and time just seems to be flying by! Cannot believe it is almost the middle of July already (where is time going) and that the weather is so rubbish (hello.. summer?!)
Thought I'd do a post updating on what I've been up to, I've been working on a freelance project creating logo and branding for an up and coming cupcake business, which has been very exciting! Don't want to give too much away yet.. but I can show you the logo and tell you that exciting products have been ordered and a shiny new website is on it's way! Please note, if you like cupcakes, there are THE BEST cupcakes I have EVER tasted! I'll post more on how you get said amazing cupcakes soon!
I have also been working on Tigerprint's Design a day competition, unfortunately with all the other things I have been working on I haven't been able to do a design everyday, but hope to catch up when I find some free time. But below are a few sneak peeks of the days that I have done so far!

My Moo order arrived!
Today my Moo order arrived, I have been eagerly awaiting it and I was not disappointed!
As a print nerd who loves the feel of paper and fantastic printed things it was unbelievably exciting for me to receive such amazing quality pieces, both in the print and the smooth glossy but not shiny paper stock.
Below are a few photos of my order, I ordered mini cards and stickers for my Etsy shop iheartrosie, the mini cards I will be using as mini business to hand out to people and also as tags (will upload photos of these when I have made them, they're gonna look AWESOME!) The stickers are for packaging, which I think will add a nice personalised touch to them :)
Finally I ordered business cards for myself, Rosie Simons Graphic and Surface Design. I paid extra to have the rounded corner business cards but it really adds to the design and makes them a beautiful object!
So happy and would thoroughly recommend Moo and their products! You can read about their wonderful silky matte laminate paper stock here!

My my it's been quite a long time since my last update!

Just quickly projects I have covered previously - Vanessa Golborn School of Dance rebrand
Now I'm off to collect together images for next blog posts! Coming soon - my new Etsy items post, my personal branding and new website, development of YCN project items for my degree show and a small freelance project I've been working on. Come back soon :)
