Café Borély

I was having a sort out in my studio and found some of the bits I had kept from my holiday to the south of France in the Summer, including postcards from Café Borély.

Café Borély is located in Parc Borély in Marsielle, next to Le Château Borély where the fantastic Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts) is located. We were just passing through to the visit the museum when I noticed the Café Borély postcards. I was instantly draw to their design, I love the cleanliness and modern feel to their logo with added organic handmade elements, and the simple layout of their postcards with gorgeous photography. It all ties in so well together plus the location is gorgeous and the food looks delicious so I highly recommend you visit if you are visiting Marseille! You can visit their website here.

If you're interested in art and design I highly recommend a visit to Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Le Château Borély too, which is filled with ceramics, glass, furniture, art, design, fashion and contemporary artwork.

Design in Print - Limelight

It's great to see your work in print! Here's a little look at the logo I designed for Vanessa Golborn School of Dance's summer show, Limelight, looking fantastic on their flyer!

The logo uses Faye Brown's awesome font, Pixel, which you can download here.

If you live in Hampshire and like dance, I highly recommend you attend this show. The students work so hard and it features a great range of dance styles! You can buy tickets here.

New Work - Sweet Daze

Recently I worked on a logo for a new bakery business - Sweet Daze.

The brief was to create something simple with a sweet contemporary feel. Below are the final 6 logos I designed, with a combination of different colours, text wraps and imagery. The logos are going to be used for advertising, packaging and decorating the homemade bakes, so I hope to share some images of the logos once they come to life!

I also made this illustration mocking up how small stickers would look decorating some of Sweet Daze's homemade bakes!

Busy busy at Rosie Simons HQ!

Hellooooo lovely people

Sorry for the quiet patch, it's been busy busy here at Rosie Simons HQ and time just seems to be flying by! Cannot believe it is almost the middle of July already (where is time going) and that the weather is so rubbish (hello.. summer?!)

Thought I'd do a post updating on what I've been up to, I've been working on a freelance project creating logo and branding for an up and coming cupcake business, which has been very exciting! Don't want to give too much away yet.. but I can show you the logo and tell you that exciting products have been ordered and a shiny new website is on it's way! Please note, if you like cupcakes, there are THE BEST cupcakes I have EVER tasted! I'll post more on how you get said amazing cupcakes soon!

I have also been working on Tigerprint's Design a day competition, unfortunately with all the other things I have been working on I haven't been able to do a design everyday, but hope to catch up when I find some free time. But below are a few sneak peeks of the days that I have done so far!

Back Pack to Bike Rack

I've been working on the logo for the charity bike ride 'Back Pack to Bike Rack' over the last week and thought I would share the outcomes.

I was asked to create the logo by a friend who is cycling from L.A. to New York in aid of charity. He will be cycling, unsupported, for around 3 months across mountains, deserts, rolling plains and urban jungles in aid of War Child, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, MIND.

Below are the logo designs, there are a few different ones for different mediums and different colour ways for different uses.

This logo is the main logo that will be used for the Facebook page, advertising, etc. In white on black and black on white.

The following 2 logos are simpler square logos for use on Twitter and other online sites.

And finally, the main logo in black and white where monochrome design is needed.

I am also currently working on creating a banner for the blog, a banner that can go over photos during the trip and an animation. I will post them all soon! The logo is also to be used on the clothing for the trip, so it will cross America!

There is also a website in the making, but for now if you want to know more, check out the Facebook page, Twitter or Blog.
