Columbia Road Flower Market

At the weekend I visited Columbia Road Flower Market in London.. and boy was it a treat!

If you love flowers I highly recommend a visit! Gorgeous flowers galore, the market runs 8am - 3pm on Sundays.

While we were there we picked up some incredible peonies.. which amazingly survived their hike around London and then back home where they are now blooming beautifully!

New Kickstarter Project: Patterned Travel Card Holders

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you may have seen the sneak peek's of my upcoming project, and at last I can reveal all.. a Kickstarter Project!

After the success of my previous Kickstarter project I thought it would be great to create a new project. Many of my backers were keen to be involved in future projects and I was keen to expand my product lines but minimum orders simply made this impossible. So a new project was born!

The project is to create Patterned Travelcard Holders featuring 6 of my original designs; Bright Letters, Garden Floral, Falling Feathers, IKAT Flowers, Patterned Arrows and Inky Floral.

Please pledge to the project if you can and get yourself and your friends some lovely Travel Card Holders in return! I really appreciate any help. You can also help by sharing the project on your blog, twitter, Facebook, other social media sites and word of mouth to get as many people to see as possible!

Thank you so much in advance for all your help sharing, funding and supporting my project!

Below are some buttons which can be added to your sites, blogs, shared on Twitter and Facebook to help raise awareness of the project. Please save these and link them to my Kickstarter page:

Colour of the Week: Thistle

Colour of the Week time!

This week.. Thistle, a pale purplish colour resembling the colour of the Thistle plant.

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with lilac, I loved it, then hated it, loved it, hated it, and now I'm very particular about the ones I like. I've worked out the ones I like are more pink and less blue, like Thistle!

I know some people think that lilac is a very dated colour, so I had lots of fun teaming it up with different colours to try and make it more up to date! I do hope that you like the colour and palettes I have created below!

Nike x Liberty

A new instalment of Nike x Liberty was released today. This range is slightly different to the previous Nike x Liberty shoes released, this range doesn't feature iconic Liberty florals, it features a Pixel pattern, but boy oh boy does that Pixel pattern scream Liberty! From a far I think you would even think they were Liberty florals!

The pattern is called Virtual Light and 'is an unusual digital design made using the luminous fabric of pixels on a screen or digital projection. Two colourways, blue and burgundy, have been used for the latest Nike x Liberty collection' - text from Liberty's Nike x Liberty news page.

You can find out more about the collection here and buy them online here!

Design in Print - Limelight

It's great to see your work in print! Here's a little look at the logo I designed for Vanessa Golborn School of Dance's summer show, Limelight, looking fantastic on their flyer!

The logo uses Faye Brown's awesome font, Pixel, which you can download here.

If you live in Hampshire and like dance, I highly recommend you attend this show. The students work so hard and it features a great range of dance styles! You can buy tickets here.

Wednesday Words

So here we are, Happy Hump Day Everyone. This is how Wednesday Words originated, to help you through the hump in the week that is Wednesday, with inspiring and motivating quotes!

Today's quote is taken from the film The Art Of Flight, a film about iconic snowboarder Travis Rice and friends. The film is full of jaw dropping footage, an incredible soundtrack and is shot in some of the most beautiful places on the planet. If you haven't seen it, I highly advice you watch it, their dedication and motivation to live life to it's greatest is truly inspiring!

The colours used in today's quote illustration are again taken from this week's Colour of the Week post.
