Dream catching
Lately I have been working very spontaneously between jobs and making patterns as and when they come into my head. The other morning I was just browsing the internet and suddenly a dreamcatcher motif and colour palette popped into my head and I had to put pen to paper, well more like finger to mouse and create what was in my head.
Creating patterns for a living would be a dream for me, so I'm hoping and wishing that someday, hopefully soon, that will be possible!
I am currently in search of work, full time, freelance or commission, if you are interested or know anyone who would be, please get in touch! You can contact me via Twitter (@rosie_simons) or Facebook (Rosie Simons Graphic and Surface Design) or email: rosie at rosiesimons dot co dot uk

Today I spotted..
Today I spotted.. an Orla Kiely Citroen DS3!
I didn't even know these existed, but boy they are pretty! I like the way that they've made the cars fun and colourful but kept the main body colour simple so the cars don't stick out too much!
My favourite details are the signature Orla Kiely print on the floor mats, windows and head rests, so simple but so effective and well designed!
What do you think? Would you own a patterned car?

Creating fabric from drawings
Yesterday I found this wonderful Spoonflower blog tutorial by Anda Corrie and it looked fabulous so today I decided I would give it a go and I am so pleased with the result!
The step by step instructions show you how to create hand drawn patterns using a black marker and some crayons (or other colouring instruments, I used Promarkers) and then turn them into clear images to upload to Spoonflower to print as fabric!
I had two goes, it's such a satisfying process and I love how they have turned out! You can see the designs in my Spoonflower shop, I'm planning to order some so they will hopefully be for sale in the not too distant future!
